Thinking about New Branding and Design?
There is nothing more important to the growth and development of your company than your branding and design. Over the years your branding and design will evolve and change reflecting the changes that your company has made. Just consider the many forms of the Windows logo, whilst they have similar branding, the design has changed to reflect the company over the years. If you’re a start-up, deciding on your branding and design can feel very overwhelming, there are just so many options and you want to make sure that you choose something that is future proof. But where do you start? Fortunately, we at Brand Culture are here to help.
We are specialists in brand activation marketing, a particular form of marketing that involves the negotiation of brand partnerships for the benefit of both companies. Which means that we know a thing or two about branding and design. We want to help you because your branding and design has to start somewhere and you have more of the answers than you probably realise. Here are just a few things that you should know about branding and design for your business.
Designs Come Quickly, your Brand Takes Longer
The reason that many large companies often develop and redesign their logos is the fact that designs can be made quickly when necessary but your brand will grow and develop slowly over time. Don’t expect your company to suddenly have this big, shiny brand and reputation just because you’ve completed your graphic design. Your branding will require some trial and error and time to build up the trust of your customers.
As your brand starts to develop, you might notice that your designs are no longer the right fit for your business and its reputation, but that’s ok. You can just rebrand, redesigning your logos, websites and layouts to fit your brand. But we would advise against doing this too often, constant rebrands and redesigns can cause your customers to lose confidence and faith in your company, so try and keep the design to a minimum.
You Need to Remain Consistent
Jumping off this idea of limiting your redesigns is the fact that your customers will feel more comfortable if you remain consistent with your brand journey and its look. Looking back at the Windows logo for a moment, you’ll notice that even though it has gone through several redesigns, the fundamental premise is still the same. It has the same colours and the same squares, just with slightly different designs.
This consistency is so important because it ensures that your customer associates your good reputation with your rebrand. Make sure that you stick to your company’s ethos and ideas when you are thinking about your Design because that will allow you to stay in your customer’s confidence.
Make Sure that it Appeals to your Audience
One of the key things that you should know about branding and design is that while it reflects your business, its outlook and its position, you do need to focus on what your audience wants to see. Every business has a target audience and well you will often get customers from outside that focus group, you do need to focus your branding and design on that particular demographic.
Do some research about who your audience is and what they usually respond well to. For example, is there a particular colour or style that they are drawn to or an image that they associate with other businesses that offer your products or services? Understanding this is one of the keys to creating your branding and design.
